Derwentwater Primary School

A larger than average local primary school with over 700 pupils. Many of those attending receive free school meals and pupils are from a wide range of minority ethnic groups with a high proportion pupils who speak English as an additional language.

The school is popular with local families. The most recent Ofsted report judged that Derwentwater is good school.

The school has a very active parents' association and works with local businesses to obtain sponsorship for a variety of projects.
