Two children have had their mobile phones taken from them when out playing Pokemon Go in Acton Park this Wednesday morning (3 August).

The two boys, aged 9 and 13, were playing the interactive game at around 10.40am when they were approached by a man on a pushbike who threatened to assault them unless they handed over the devices. Police say the robbery was committed at some time between 10.40am and 11am.

The suspect is described as a 5ft 10ins tall white man in his mid-twenties with short blonde hair wearing a black hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and riding a white bicycle.

Natalie James, the mother of the 9-year-old said that she had given her son her phone to allow him to play the game. She said it was the first time he had been allowed out to play without an adult and that she had only let him out on condition that he returned within 45 minutes.

Natalie said, “Kids should be able to play in parks without being robbed and should be able to play on phones. Tell your kids and teenagers to keep their phones out of sight.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
