Prices and volumes down in the Land Registry's latest figures

More bad news for local estate agents and homeowners, as new figures show that the number of properties changing hands in Acton is falling rapidly, along with the average sale price.

The latest set of figures from the Land Registry show that home sales in the W3 area fell by over 50% compared to the same time last year and prices were down by 3.3%.

With only 111 properties changing hands in a three month period the market has continued in the downward spiral that it has followed for the past year. The rest of the country also saw a fall in volumes but not to the same extent as Acton.

The figures also show that the average price of a Acton property is now £245,731. Acton prices are down by 3.3% over the last year compared to a 9.83% rise for London and a 10.27% national increase.

For the first time in over a year a house in Acton has changed hands for more the £1 million. The home in Avenue Crescent is the 5th property in this bracket to be sold in the W3 area since 2000.
