A car has been driven head first into the river of Church Street Isleworth this Saturday afternoon (15 April).

Nobody was injured in the incident but the driver was arrested by Hounslow Police who say he was found to be three times over the drink drive limit when he crashed through the barrier between the parking area and the river.

London Fire Brigade, London Amubulance Service and London Lifeboats all attended the scene just up the road from the London Apprentice pub.

Our motoring correspondent believes the driver may have flooded the engine.
