Watermans Court Goes Green thanks to AQB

Capel Manor College designed and planted the containers

Planting

It’s been a couple of years now since Air Quality Brentford noticed the empty brick planters outside Watermans Court on Brentford High Street, opposite the Premier Inn. They set out to obtain permission and funding to green-up these containers and finally, on a very rainy morning, the project has been completed!

Special thanks to the wonderful Capel Manor College who collaborated with AQB to make this community planting project happen. Each student designed a container themselves, bought the plants, prepared the containers last week, and then planted them up.

Thanks also to Inspire Hounslow, Tea Pigs, Thorgills and Co-op Housing for funding the purchase of the plants and compost, this couldn’t have been done without their support.

Hopefully the new plants will thrive in their new home and bring colour and variety to this section of our High Street.

This is part of Air Quality Brentford’s campaign to #MakeBrentfordGreener.

More planting projects are being planned at Netley Road on the Haverfield Estate and at Brentford Market Square for later this summer.
