More flats and houses for area on derelict site?
Another 500 new flats and houses could be coming to Brentford.
The Alfa Lavel site on the Great West Road has been acquired by the Dominion Housing Group. They have started consulting with local residents around the now-derelict site over their plans, which include a mixture of flats and townhouses, new office space for local and smaller companies, a hotel, a small supermarket and community facilities.
The site is directly opposite the former headquarters of Beechams, now acquired by Barratt Homes, who are proposing to build over 1000 housing units on the site.
The Alfa Lavel site has been empty for nine years despite the previous owner getting pplanning permission in 1999 for a new office complex. The 13 storey building, once home to Brentford Nylons, has been empty for nine years. The land around it is used by GSK as a car park.
An consultation showing some of the plans for the site will be held on Tuesday May 17 and Wednesday May 18 from 6pm to 9pm on the site. Access is via Ealing Road, near the A4. Car parking is available.
