The Dockhouse Prepares to Open its Doors
Launch of eagerly awaited waterside pub and restaurant is imminent
The Dockhouse has already served family and friends during a soft opening

Brentford’s riverside is about to welcome its newest addition, as The Dockhouse — a bar, café and restaurant overlooking Workhouse Dock — readies for its grand opening.
After a successful test-run with invited family and friends earlier this week, the venue briefly closed again on Thursday for final preparations. Locals passing by thought it had already opened, but staff confirmed they were adding the last finishing touches before welcoming the public on Friday (24 July) or Saturday.
The Dockhouse sits at the heart of the Brentford Project, a major regeneration scheme transforming the town’s waterfront. The new venue promises all-day drinks, riverside views, and a space built for everything from morning coffee to last orders. The venue will operate as a daytime café and evening bar-restaurant, with collapsible furniture allowing the terrace to be cleared for events.
In a post on social media, the team shared their excitement:
“What an exciting week it has been for us at The Dockhouse! We've had the pleasure of hosting our closest friends and family to our exclusive pre-opening 'housewarming' events, giving them a sneak peek into what's in store for you all… We're now just a step away from opening our doors to the public and can't wait to welcome you in soon!”
The Dockhouse is operated by Hall & Woodhouse, the Dorset-based brewer and pub group behind the Badger ales brand. Founded in 1777, the family-owned company runs a network of pubs and inns across southern England, many of them food-led and known for their relaxed, community-focused atmosphere.
The Dockhouse occupies the unit at the top of the steps where open-air cinema screenings were held last summer, giving it prime views over the dock and the River Brent.
