Brentford Story Spare a few hours for charity?

Spare a few hours for charity?

If you thought you didn't have enough time to volunteer, think again!

GO offers a year-round calendar of one day volunteering opportunities on Saturdays or Sundays. Events are mini-challenges at places like Brentford Resource Centre, homeless shelters, schools and public green spaces, completing tasks like creating a wildlife garden, painting a mural or just straight digging or decorating. Whatever you do, you'll see a real, visible difference at the end of 4 to 5 hours.

There's no minimum commitment, you can pick and choose according to how close they are to home, the type of event you fancy or just the days on which you are free! Get in touch to receive further information or just keep an eye on our website www.csv.org.uk/go and when you see an event you would like to come to get in touch on 0207 643 1341 or gocity@csv.org.uk

Have you got an idea for an event?
All tasks need to involve hands on work which will enable volunteers to see a visible difference as a result of their efforts; tasks could be anything from painting; planting; digging or decorating. Past events have involved painting resource centres to provide a brighter more welcoming environment for people coming to seek advice; to creating a playground jungle in a local school so children have a more challenging and fun place to play. The number of volunteers would be suited to the task, and there is always a trained event leader present to work with the venue contact and coordinate volunteers.
