Support Jack and Tim in their Half Marathon by Night
Jack and Tim Luckett of Windmill Road in Brentford will be taking part in ‘Shine for Cancer Research UK’ on 1st October, walking 13.1 miles (a half marathon) through the night (starting at 11.30pm) from the O2 to Tower Bridge. Hopefully it won’t be raining!
Tim said "We are walking in memory of two family members who both died from cancer during the last year or so, Christine Ryan who we lost on 25th May 2010 (Jack’s Grandma and Tim’s Mother-in-Law) and Chris Luckett who we lost on 3rd June 2011 (Jack’s Grandpa and Tim’s Dad). We hope to raise £1,500 towards bowel cancer research – so far we have raised more than £650.
"We are hoping that we can be transferred to a parallel walk of 26.2 miles (a full marathon) – starting at 8pm – but this walk was fully booked when we applied."
