Brentford residents will have the opportunity to hear the latest updates on regeneration plans for the town and the wider Golden Mile at a community event taking place later this month.

The session, organised by Brentford Voice in collaboration with Hounslow Council, will be held on Tuesday 24 February from 6.15pm to 8.15pm at Brentford Free Church on Boston Manor Road. It is designed to give local people a clearer picture of several major projects that are shaping the future of the area.

Among the schemes to be discussed are proposals for a new arts centre on the former Brentford Police Station site, the recently approved Golden Mile Investment Framework, and the emerging masterplan for Brentford town centre.

From 6.15pm, attendees will be able to view exhibition-style information boards related to each project and speak informally with council officers in the reception area. Tea and coffee will be available during the drop-in session.

At around 6.50pm, Brentford Voice will invite residents to take their seats and will formally welcome Cllr Tom Bruce, Hounslow Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Assets, Regeneration and Development, alongside Cllr Salman Shaheen, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Public Spaces. Both councillors are expected to outline the council’s broader vision for Brentford and the Golden Mile before a series of short presentations expands on the material shown in the exhibition area.

After each presentation, the chair will invite questions and comments from the audience, allowing residents to raise concerns and seek clarification directly from council representatives and officers.

Organisers say the event comes at a pivotal moment for Brentford, as long-term regeneration proposals move from planning into delivery. They argue that the scale of change underway makes it particularly important for residents to understand how developments may affect daily life, local services and the character of the area.

Attendance is free, but residents are being asked to register in advance so organisers can estimate numbers. Those planning to attend can also submit questions ahead of time through the registration form or by emailing Brentford Voice by 18 February. This, organisers say, will help identify the topics of greatest interest and ensure the evening runs efficiently.

In addition, Brentford Voice is encouraging residents to complete a short survey before the event to help shape the discussion. The survey invites feedback on priorities for the Golden Mile, ideas for improving Brentford town centre and views on the proposed arts centre. Responses received by 18 February will be used to tailor the content of the presentations.

Organisers hope the evening will give residents a clearer understanding of how regeneration plans are progressing and how the community can continue to influence decisions as major developments move forward across Brentford and the Golden Mile.
