Residents of Castle Road, Grainger Road and Nottingham Road in Isleworth have once again transformed their neighbourhood into a festive trail of hope and creativity — and this year, they’re shining a light on youth mental health by fundraising for Hounslow Youth Counselling Service (HYCS).

From 1 to 24 December, the three streets will become a “living Advent calendar,” with a new decorated window unveiled each day. Visitors are invited to stroll through the area, enjoy the seasonal displays, and support HYCS, a local charity offering free, confidential counselling to 11–25-year-olds across the borough.

The initiative, now in its third year, began after the Platinum Jubilee and has raised £4,500 for charity to date. Organisers say this year’s goal is to make their biggest impact yet.

“Our aim this year is simple,” said organisers. “To boost the efforts of this incredible charity supporting local young people. We hope everyone enjoys the windows and will help us to make a difference.”

HYCS, based just around the corner from the participating streets, has seen rising demand for its services — especially during the winter months. The charity was recently named one of the Mayor of Hounslow’s chosen charities for 2025–26, recognising its vital role in supporting young people’s wellbeing.

Patricia David, Head of Service at HYCS, said, “The kindness and energy behind this project mean so much to us and to the young people we serve. The Advent Windows Fundraiser is such an imaginative and uplifting idea — a wonderful way to help everyone beat the winter blues while shining a light on the importance of supporting young people’s mental health across the borough.”

Visitors can donate via Just Giving (details on the HYCS website), scan the QR code displayed on windows, or visit www.hycscounselling.co.uk to learn more.
