A Brentford man has been charged with assault, possession of cannabis and possession of a knife after an incident in a local supermarket.

Police were called to the Tesco store on Mogden Lane in Isleworth on Tuesday (27 March) at round 1pm after receiving a report of an assault. 18-year-old Japheth Spence had been detained by the store’s security staff.

He was arrested and officers from Response Team B found the large knife with a scabbard and cannabis after searching a rucksack.

He has been bailed to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on 11 April.
