A woman who was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus from a burning building on Carlyle Road earlier this month has died in hospital.

She was on ground floor of a semi-detached house on the roard which runds between Junction Road and Windmill Road when the fire took hold early in the morning of Wednesday 5 April.

After being taken out of the property she was brought to hospital, but the Fire Brigade have now announced that she has died.

The Brigade received the first call about the incident at 6:01am and sent three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Ealing, Acton and Chiswick fire stations. It took just under an hour to get the fire under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
