A new premises licence application suggests that the long-closed Kew House Chinese takeaway on Brentford High Street may soon be replaced by a Korean restaurant. The application, submitted by newly registered company Inyun Ltd, outlines plans for a café-style venue serving Korean fried chicken, beer, and soju—a traditional Korean spirit.

The proposed restaurant would occupy the ground floor of 408 High Street, a commercial unit measuring approximately 62.5m² (1,133 sq ft). The site has a long history of food service use, with records indicating its operation as a café or dining rooms dating back to 1911. A previous attempt to convert the property into residential use in 2021 did not proceed.

According to the application, the new venue would offer takeaway options alongside limited sit-in seating. The name “Inyun” is derived from the Korean term Inyeon ( 인연), which refers to the concept of fated human connections—a theme often associated with Korean Buddhism and cultural storytelling.

The application is open for public comment until 9 October 2025, and residents or interested parties can submit representations via email to licensing@hounslow.gov.uk.
