Sam's Waterside Included in The Good Food Guide
Reviewer says no longer any need to leave TW8 for a superb meal

Brentford now has a restaurant included in The Good Food Guide after Sam’s Waterside was voted into the list of Britain’s top 100 local restaurants.
Over 60,000 people participated in the poll and, despite having been opened only last November, local diners gave it sufficient support to appear in the 100 Best Local Restaurants 2024.
Describing Sam Harrison as ‘West London restaurant royalty’ The Good Food Guide Reviewer suggests that, while the surroundings of the Brentford venue don’t quite match that of the upstream Sam’s Riverside, the open-plan dining room is ‘a very appealing place to while away a few hours on a sunny day’.
It is suggested that readers who commented that it was the best restaurant in Brentford may risk being accused of damning with faint praise, but Sam’s Waterside ‘has obviated the need to travel to Richmond or Chiswick for supper’.
The trademark Parmesan churros (slim cigars of cheese-flecked doughnut) are recommended and a strength in seafood is highlighted. The mention of the churros has prompted Sam's Waterside to offer them free for the next month to every table that can show at least one diner is subscribed to its email newsletter.
Sam Harrison said after the announcement, “We are thrilled with this award and especially after only being open for 7 months. Great testament to the hard work of the Brentford team.”
He thanked everyone who voted for them and said special mention should go to both the front-of-house and back-of-house teams for their hard work and dedication.
Other London restaurants to make the list included Giulia in Shepherd’s Bush and Home SW15 in Putney. Mambow in Clapton was voted the best in the capital.
