Brentford and Isleworth Pay Respect to Queen Elizabeth

Churches across Brentford and Isleworth have left their doors open to allow people to mark the death of Queen Elizabeth II in quiet remembrance.
St Paul’s Church has a condolence book which you can sign or you can light a candle. It will be open this Saturday from 8.30pm and 3.30pm.
St. Mary’s Church in Osterley has also a condolence book and is open every day.
Local MP Ruth Cadbury MP said, “At this saddest of times, I send the thoughts, prayers and condolences of my family and my constituents to the Royal Family.
“The Queen was first and foremost devoted to her family; her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and wider family. For over 70 years the Queen has been a constant in all our lives; a beacon of dedication and stability. She served graciously and tirelessly as our monarch and personified just what public service should be.”
Council Leader, Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, added, “Our late Sovereign, Queen Elizabeth the Second was the longest serving Monarch in this country’s history. She visited the Borough on several occasions during her reign and will be remembered with affection and gratitude by residents, as she will be by people across the country and indeed the globe.
“The Queen’s devotion to public service was truly exemplary. Over a period in history that saw many momentous changes she provided a consistency that was invaluable to all living in our country. We owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude.”
The council has lowered the two flags it flies, at Hounslow House and Chiswick Town Hall, to half-mast and books of condolence have been placed across public buildings in the borough to help residents pay their respects in writing.
On Friday 9 September, the following public buildings were open for residents to write in the books of condolences:

• Chiswick Library, 1 Dukes Ave, Chiswick, London W4 2AB.
• Chiswick Town Hall, Heathfield Terrace, Turnham Green, Chiswick, W4 4JN
• Heston Library, New Heston Road, Hounslow TW5 0LW.
All libraries will be open on Saturday 10 September and more books will be opened:

An official proclamation will be made when the Mayor of Hounslow formally announces the death of the monarch and the accession of King Charles the Third to the throne. The local proclamation will be at Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow High Street on Sunday 11 September. This will take place at approximately 2.00pm – subject to the timings of the national Proclamation.
As part of the National Proclamation of the new monarch, flags are raised to full height from 11am on Saturday 10 September. The flags will then be lowered at 1pm on Sunday 11 September, an hour before the local Proclamation event. The flags will remain at half mast until the day after the funeral.
A number of events scheduled for the weekend have been cancelled but London Irish’s Premiership rugby fixture with Worcester Warriors is going ahead. Brentford FC’s away game against Southampton on Saturday has been called off.
A Vintage and Craft Market due to take place on Saturday 10 September at The Kings Arms, Brentford has been cancelled.
Osterley & Wyke Green Residents' Association’s public meeting regarding the Adini building that was to be held on Monday 12 September has been postponed. A new date will be announced in due course.
