Blue Citroen Saxo in collision with lorry
Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision that occurred on
the Great West Road, Isleworth to come forward.
Police were called at approx 0915hrs on Tuesday, 18 January to reports
of a car, a blue Citroen Saxo, in collision with a lorry on the A4 Great
West Road, near the junction with Syon Lane, Isleworth.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.
The front seat passenger of the Citroen, a 29-year-old man, was
pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Citroen was taken to a central London hospital with
serious injuries; he remains in hospital.
The back seat passenger of the Citroen was taken to a central London
hospital, he remains in hospital, his injuries are not classified as
serious.
The driver of the lorry, a 63-year-old man, was arrested at the scene. He
has since been released on police bail to a date in April pending
further enquiries.
The police are waiting for the results of the post mortem that is taking place on Wednesday at
Fulham mortuary. They believe they know the identity of the deceased. Next of kin have been
informed, but formal identification has yet to happen.
The incident is being investigated by officers from the Metropolitan
Police Service, Road Death Investigation Unit.
Detective Sergeant Chris Osborne said:
"The collision happened as the Citroen was travelling east bound into
London. It happened at a very busy time, with lots of commuters
travelling in and out of London. We are asking anyone who saw the
collision or the events leading to the collision to contact us."
