Man rumbled when pretending to be from alarm company
Police are seeking two men believed to have been involved in an attempted robbery on Jersey Road, Osterley.
The incident took place on Saturday 14th May whilst the victim, a 53 year old woman, was away on holiday. At 3.45pm neighbours heard the burglar alarm at the premises sounding and called 999. The police did not attend the scene but the alarm stopped.
Then at 6pm the alarm when off again as neighbours reported a loud bang from the premises. One man came out to investigate and saw a suspect dressed in biker gear with the visor of his helmet down. When approached he said, "I'm from the alarm company. I'm here to investigate." However, the neighbour remained suspicious and the suspect walked to another man who was with a motorbike nearby and the pair rode away in the direction of Hounslow.
When the householder returned from holiday she found that her rear door had been badly damaged but no access had been gained to the property. If you saw two men on a bike in the vicinity that day or have other information which you believe may be helpful to the enquiry then you are asked to call DC Gavin Bolt on 020 8247 5940.
