Griffin Park Funday This Sunday

Braemar Road gates thrown open at noon (Free Entry)

The 2008/09 football season, which from Brentford's prospective was celebrated eleven days ago when the League Two championship trophy was presented to the team on the pitch, reaches its grand finale this coming Sunday when Griffin Park plays host to the annual Sunday Funday.

This annual Event, which has always proved popular regardless of where the team may have finished, promises to be one of the most successful ever in the light of the team's success.

The Event which is free to all, kicks off at 12 noon when the Braemar Road gates are thrown open.

At that time The Bill Bell Sixes competition which is open to Under 8s will already be in full swing and will be concluded mid afternoon.

On arrival within the Braemar Road forecourt you will have the opportunity to "Climb the Wall" Army style which proved to be particularly popular last year, and is one of two activities they will be organising on the day. The other is an Assault Course on the pitch.

Also along the perimeters of the pitch will be the perennial favourites, the Bouncy Castles, the Gladiator Joust, a Surf Simulator and a Bungee Run.

In the main arena there will be a number of activities with displays and performances from the Feltham Dance Group who will also run a Workshop during the afternoon, whilst you will also have the opportunity to learn and take part in Futsal, Cricket/Tapeball, Tennis, Handball, Frisbee, Trigolf and other sports. In the Griffin Park Learning Zone you will have the chance to "throw some shapes" in the Dance Zone.

There will be the regular stalls raising funds and awareness for a wide ranging list of groups and charities such as The Mulberry Centre, 6th Brentford Air Scouts, CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), Breath Easy, Feltham Bees and of course supporters groups such as Bees United, BIAS, Brentford Lifeline Society and BSA. And of course you will have the opportunity to get information about Season Tickets for next season in League One and general information about the Football Club.

Throughout the afternoon, those present will be entertained by Westside Radio who will be providing the music and chat, whilst sustenance will be in plentiful supply courtesy of Azure Catering.

Midway through the afternoon we also expect to welcome the victorious Brentford Manager Andy Scott together with a number of the players who will parade the League Two Trophy.

Visitors to the Funday will also have the opportunity to purchase their photo taken with the Trophy by the Club's Official Photographer and take home their memento.

We are also welcoming Kit Sponsors who are invited to come along to the Boardroom at 2.30pm to receive their signed shirts as a thank you for their support this past season.

All in all the club believes there is something for everyone. Be the judges and check it out for yourselves - a small part of the reason why Brentford FC was voted the League 2 Community Club of the Year by the Football League Awards for 2008-09.
