All are invited on Monday 14th September between 9.30am-12.30pm to Find out what’s new at Mission Hall, enroll children into the new Green Dragon playgroup at Mission Hall, find out about Adult Ed courses in Brentford, say what other services you would like to see and, last but not least have some refreshments.

Brentford Children’s Centre, Green Dragon School, North Road

The construction of Brentford Children’s Centre on the Green Dragon School site starts in September should be completed by April 2010. In the interim period key services and activities can be accessed at a number of local hubs:

Green Dragon Playgroup, Ealing Road Baptist Church

The Green Dragon Playgroup will be running out of Ealing Road Baptist church until the new centre is being built. Sessions run from 9.30am to 12pm and the cost is £6 per session.

Mission Hall Community Centre, Mission Square

From September 2009 to July 2010, the Children’s Centre is taking over the lease for the Mission Hall crèche, which used to be the Adult Education crèche.  A new extension of the Green Dragon playgroup will run out of here on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9am-12pm. The playgroup  will also be open to Adult Education learners needing childcare.

As well as playgroup, the Mission Hall crèche will have ante and post-natal clinics, a baby discussion group for new mums and other post-natal groups. There are also plans for two new play and stay sessions on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Brentford Toy Library, St Paul’s Centre, St Paul’s Road  

The Toy Library runs three play and stay sessions per week as well as offering the opportunity to hire out toys on a weekly basis. It acts as an information point for people to pick up brochures and runs occasional  information sessions on subjects including Adult Education courses, Healthy Eating, and services for children. The Toy Library, on behalf of the Children’s Centre runs a weekly support session for childminders on Friday afternoons from 1.30pm -3.30pm.
