Brentford Dock Residents’ Association support Macmillan Nurses

Macmillan Sale and Coffee Morning

When, over dinner with friends, Pam Richardson, Treasurer of Brentford Dock Residents’ Association, said “If I organise a Macmillan Coffee Morning will you help me?”, little did she know what she was starting!  Seven years on, over £7,000 has been raised.  In 2007, again over dinner, two of Pam’s friends, Paul Donaldson and Tony Moore, said “We will organise a sale the week before the Coffee Morning and give the proceeds to Macmillan”,  The Sale, like the Coffee Morning, has now become an established part of life on Brentford Dock, and so far has raised over £2,700. Pam’s particular interest in Macmillan is as a result of her own experience with ovarian cancer.  She is extremely thankful for her recovery which means she is fit enough, with the help of her friends at Brentford Dock, to organise the Coffee Morning.

This year’s  Sale will be held in the Dock Residents’ Clubroom, 1, Augustus Close, Brentford Dock, on Saturday, 19 September, from 10 a.m, to 2 p.m.

Unwanted Christmas presents, furniture, bric-a-brac and refreshments donated for the sale can be accepted from 8.30 am on the day – although Paul (020 8568 5140) or Tony (07774 147964 or 020 8847 1182) may be able to store some items in advance.  Please no clothing.

The Coffee Morning, part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, will be held the following Friday, 25 September, from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the Dock Residents’ Clubroom, 1, Augustus Close, Brentford Dock  A donation of £1 to Macmillan Cancer Support is suggested.  Prizes donated for the raffle will be gratefully accepted by Pam (020 8232 8424), The Mayor of Hounslow, Councillor Paul Lynch has kindly accepted  an invitation to attend.
