Residents in Brentford, Isleworth and Osterley will come together over Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day to honour members of the armed forces and all those who have lost their lives in conflict.

In Brentford, a parade will leave St Paul's Church at 10.40am on Sunday 8 November before making its way to Brentford Library, where the remembrance service will begin at 10.50am. Cllr Guy Lambert is due to attend the ceremony.

In Isleworth, participants are asked to meet at the Isleworth Royal British Legion in North Street at 10.30am before walking behind the band to the Isleworth War Memorial. The event will be attended by Cllr Tom Bruce.

Other local churches will also be holding services – check parish updates for details.

Commemorations will continue on Armistice Day itself, Wednesday 11 November, when communities across the country observe the traditional two-minute silence at 11am.

In Osterley, a service will be held at Borough Road, with attendees asked to arrive from 10.30am. The event will be attended by the Mayor of Hounslow, Cllr Ranjit Gill, and Cllr Tony Louki.

The ceremonies provide local people with an opportunity to pay tribute to service personnel, veterans and all those whose lives have been affected by war and conflict, while ensuring that their sacrifice is remembered by future generations.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
