Bicycle theft is on the increase so do what you can to protect your bike
Thefts of pedal cycles are an increasing problem. Thieves that steal your bike will use them to commit crimes. Protect yourself and your bike and help to put a STOP to this type of crime……
Cyclists, if you would like to receive some free crime prevention advice about how to protect your bike from this type of crime you can visit Brentford Safer Neighbourhood Team at:
TRICO HOUSE, Ealing Road (opposite Layton Road) at 12:00 Saturday 11th September
They will be registering your bikes onto the immobilise database and marking bikes. Immobilise is the world's largest FREE register of possession ownership details and together with its sister sites the Police's NMPR and CheckMEND, forms a very effective tool in helping to reduce crime and repatriate recovered personal property to its rightful owners. This online checking service is used by all UK Police forces to trace owners of lost and stolen property. In addition Immobilise is checked daily by a huge range of recovery agencies and lost property offices. Once again this service is completely free and one of the best ways, once stolen property is found, in returning it to the rightful owner.
Not only will you receive your bike back if it is found by police after being stolen, but anyone in possession of it may be arrested.
