St Faith's Announces Its Christmas Fayre

Which will build on last year's success

St Faith’s Church in Windmill Road, Brentford, is once again getting into the Christmas spirit with preparations for its Christmas Fayre, to be held on 23 November.

The first such event took place in November 2009 and was an instant success.  Twenty local businesses had festive stalls in the Church and in the next door Church Hall.  This was set to a backdrop of west London Choirs singing carols and musicians providing the backing.

Over 1,000 eager shoppers attended, taking advantage of the huge range of festive produce and gifts.  Stall holders included Richardsons the butchers of Ealing, Lleixa Art and the Bijou Box of Brentford and the Kew Bridge Steam Museum, all returning this year.  New to the Fayre is Poisson the fishmongers who, along with Richardsons, will be providing demonstrations of their culinary skills.

St Faith’s vicar, the Reverend Derath Durkin, is looking forward to the evening. “Last year’s Fayre was a huge hit on so many levels.  It really bought the Church and the community together, provided a great opportunity for some early Christmas shopping and benefitted the local businesses who were involved,” she said.

It was also attended by Mary Macleod, MP for Brentford and Isleworth who said: “The Christmas Fayre at St Faith’s was a fabulous event last year and a huge success. It is a great opportunity for traders and the local community to get together, support each other and enjoy an evening together.”

Peter Hughes at the Brentford Chamber of Commerce is another fan, commenting:  "Having seen the success of last year's Christmas Fayre at St Faith’s, the Brentford Chamber of Commerce is excited that this event, which brings local traders and the public together, is happening again."

Among the businesses coming this year are the Dressing up Chest, Kumari Glass, the Cracked Pot Florist, Ethical Babe, Plum Duff Patisserie (demonstrating Christmas cake decorating), Jane West jewellery, Waterstone’s, Harrinder Lawley, Cubiko, Aldona, Serrander Sensuals, Gravey Games, Dan Raven, the School of Wok London Mummy, Smallprint and Gemma J jewellery.
