Watermans Park Friends Plan Community Garden

The Friends of Watermans Park, a group of residents who help protect the local green space, has drawn up plans to create a community garden in the park close to its eastern end.
The vision is to create a beautiful space in the park that promotes health, wellbeing, sustainability, and community friendships.
A survey is now available on Hounslow Council’s ‘Let’s Talk’ pages to consider the proposal. Everyone is invited to complete the survey and give feedback about the proposal and the park in general. Local community opinion will help determine the final design of the community garden and demonstrate support so the Friends can apply for grant funding. Comments must be received by 14 March.

The Friends of Watermans Park has also created a new video to showcase the park. It includes drone footage as well as black and white images of the old Brentford Gas Works, on which site the park now stands.
The Friends have some ambitious plans for the park in 2024 including free-to-attend music events on July weekends and during the Creative Mile weekend at the end of August. These events proved very successful last year and the Friends hope to expand them further in the current year.
The Friends of Waterman's Park's main aim is to help protect, conserve and enhance Watermans Park, its environs and access to the River Thames for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
It was formed by a group of local people who envisage a vibrant community amenity which can host community events as well as an attractive recreational area for all.
