Julia Quilliam met with the stone mason this week at Brentford Library. Everything is going well and it is hoped that work will start on the foundations in the next week or so.
The whole project should be completed by the end of August which is very exciting. The best news is that the front panel was removed in one piece which has saved considerable money.
A Re-dedication Ceremony is planned for 10am Saturday 19 September. Reverend Derek Simpson will be leading the service. Hounslow Barracks will send Fusiliers. The troops will line up in the Butts at 9.30am and march to the library. The mayor of Hounslow, Councillor Paul Lynch will also be there.
Everybody is very welcome to attend and jointly commemorate the re-dedication of the War Memorial in its new home.
