Brentford Local History Day

Details sought for those listed on St Lawrence's WWI memorial

A local history day is being held in Brentford Library on Saturday 6 June from 11am to 4.30pm, featuring an exhibition associated with the WW1 memorial at St Lawrence’s Church and honouring the men listed. Memorabilia will be on display, talks held throughout the day and refreshments available.

St Lawrence's WWI Memorial Appeal
Are any of your war hero ancestors commemorated on the war memorial in St Lawrence’s churchyard? There are plans to restore and re-site the memorial near other memorials at Brentford Library.

Brentford High Street Steering Group is looking for any information on the men who died for an exhibition at Brentford Library about Brentford during the First World War. There are 177 names on the memorial and it would be very interesting to know more about them and their lives in Brentford before they made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

If you can help, please contact Julia Quilliam of Brentford High Street Steering Group, c/o Quilliam Property Services, 206 High Street, Brentford, TW8 8AH or 020 8847 4737
