Isleworth & Syon School has made a successful bid for funds to make further improvements to the school estate.

It has been awarded £725,000 to transform the school kitchen and refurbish and expand dining facilities to create an extensive dining room and Sixth Form study area.

To accommodate these changes, the drama and music rooms will be re-sited to a new area of the school, ensuring that the school’s focus on the arts remains central to its curriculum and extra-curricular provision. Isleworth & Syon continues to provide creative and performance opportunities for young people and to invest accordingly.

Academies across the country made bids for more than £1.45 billion for over 4,350 improvements and of these, 1,476 were successful, totalling £434 million. Once again, the school has worked with Catherine Ramsden and her team at Useful Studio on the plans for this project. The development will start at the beginning of August.

Headteacher Euan Ferguson commented, “The vast majority of the successful bids this year were for major health and safety issues, so we are thrilled to have secured the funds that will be so developmental for the school. We already have an outstanding food offer with ‘Cucina’s’ chef-led service, now there will be a modern kitchen and dining area to match and a great new café-style private study area for our Sixth Form students. New drama and music rooms will enhance the provision and support an already outstanding area of the school.
