Bees 2 Bradford 1

Elder scores in stoppage time as Brentford take points at Griffin Park

Games like these are why football is the greatest sport ever invented.

We had 85 minutes of wet and muddy battling, with neither side realising their full potential. Then Marcus Bean capped off a fantastic performance with a well-taken goal from about 20 yards just minutes before the final whistle.

Of course Bradford went and scored with their first opportunity after the re-start, as ecstasy among the Brentford fans turned to gloom and disappointment. We hung in there though, and Nathan Elder popped up to score about thirty seconds before the final whistle causing jubilant scenes among the home support.

It was a sweet moment for Elder too, who had been taunted by Bradford defender Matt Clarke moments earlier for his failure to net during the game.

A special Beesotted mention has to go to Mikkel Andersen who came in as cover for Ben Hamer - putting in a solid performance (save a couple of suspect kicks and a "backpass incident") and going potty at the final whistle. Good luck for the future.

Bees - Andersen, Dickson, Phillips, Bennett, Johnson (Poole 76), Scannell (Williams 72), O'Connor, Bean, Wood, Elder, MacDonald (Bowditch 76)

Subs not used - Anderson, Odhiambo
