Open Meeting Thursday 30th August
After two years of construction, around half of the new works is now fully built, equipped, tested and ready to be brought into service.
Over the next few weeks wastewater will enter part of the extension for the first time - through the new inlet works and primary tanks, where solid and heavy particles are removed.
This extra capacity will allow us to switch off the existing primary tanks on the west side of the works so we can refurbish and cover them to control odour.
Meanwhile, work to reduce the embankment to its final height by the end of this year and improve the outlook for people living nearby is starting to take shape.
We will shortly begin removing our site offices overlooking properties bordering the north-west corner of the site - near Worton Hall Industrial Estate. This will allows us to advance with landscaping this area.
We are continuing to work hard to recover time lost as a result of the unusually wet weather earlier this summer, which may include working on the embankment until 7pm on weekdays. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you for bearing with us while we carry out work to improve Mogden, the result of which will reduce the amount of partially-treated sewage that overflows into the River Thames after heavy rain.

On Thursday 30 August, from 5pm to 6.30 pm, we will be holding an informal drop-in session where you will be able to discuss the improvement work at Mogden with members of the project team.
This will be held at Twickenham Stadium. On arrival please report to reception at Rugby House Door A, situated in the South Stand. Free car parking is available in the main car park and refreshments will be provided.
