Increase in Theft of Mopeds

Residents warned to secure all vehicles carefully

Metropolitan Police

There has recently been an increase in Theft of Mopeds in the Chiswick and Brentford areas.

As part of prevention measures that are currently being undertaken owners of mopeds, scooters and motorbikes should take extra precautions to ensure that vehicles are safe.

Try to keep vehicles out of public view where possible. If they can be seen by the public then it is likely that they can be seen by potential thieves.

If you have no option but to leave the vehicle in public view then consider using a motorbike cover as this provides a visible deterrent to thieves.

Increase security on your vehicle. Secure your vehicle with a lock and chain to prevent it from being stolen and where possible secure it to a solid object.

This may be inconvenient to moped/motorbike owners but the above measures may prevent vehicles from being stolen which will inconvenience vehicle thieves.
