Burglaries, Bike Thefts and an arrest

September's Neighbourhood Watch

Burglaries
The Police have warned that there has been an outbreak of residential burglaries in the Ealing Road area of Brentford.  Burglar(s) have been entering properties through windows that have been left open.   The Police wish to remind residents to keep all doors and windows closed and secured even when leaving the property for a few minutes.  Residents with garden sheds containing gardening equipment are also reminded to keep their sheds locked at all times.

Bike Crime
Due to an increase in local bicycle crime, the Police would like to remind bicycle owners never to leave bicycles unlocked even for a short period.  Use only good quality locks available from Cycles Stores, and if you have quick release saddles or wheels, remove them when the bicycle is not in use.

Brentford FC Match Day E-mail Address for Major Incident
Brentford FC have introduced a zero tolerance policy for serious incidents in and around Griffin Park on match days and have set up an e-mail address incident@brentfordfc.co.uk
for residents to report incidents directly to the club.  E-mails sent by residents will be handled by Brentford FC’s Senior Safety Stewards and Match Day Control Office

Arrest in Hamilton Road
Shortly after 04.00am, Saturday 7th August, vigilant residents saw youths tampering with parked cars in Hamilton Road.  The residents immediately dialed 999.  The police arrived on the scene very quickly and an arrest was made.  Neighbourhood Watch ask residents who are disturbed by noise coming from the street during the night to check the cause and if necessary dial 999.  It could be your own or your neighbours vehicle that thieves are targeting.  Neighbourhood Watch would like to ask residents, that if it is necessary to get up during the night, to take the time and trouble to take a quick look out onto the street to see if everything is as it should be.

Self Defence Classes
The first Metropolitan Police Self Defence Class for Brentford residents took place at Brentford Police Station on Saturday 28th August 2010.
