Did You Go To St Paul's School?

Special memories or mementos sought for a historic display

The Light of Christ Liturgy is part of a year-long tour, organised by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), to celebrate the foundation of the National Society by Joshua Watson in 1811.  The National Society established free education for everyone in the Diocese of London and paved the way for our national education system.

In 2011, a sacred candle, a symbol of the Light of Christ, will travel to every school in the Diocese of London, and visits St Paul’s School on Tuesday, 22 March 2011.  To mark this historical event, a special liturgy service will take place at St. Paul’s Church at 10:00am, to which local church representatives, dignitaries, parents, friends and pupils, past and present, will be invited

In the lead up to the Light of Christ Liturgy Service, St Paul's School are seeking old photographs, historical records, souvenirs (e.g. report cards, books, uniforms etc) and people’s special memories of St Paul’s CE Primary School.   These mementos will be used to recreate the history of our school and will go on display at St. Paul’s Church in March. Anything of monetary, historical or sentimental value will be returned after the event or can be scanned for the archives with permission.

If you, or anyone you know, was a past pupil, member of staff or governor at St Paul’s – or connected to our school in any way - and you have memories or mementos to share, please contact Mrs McGovern or Mrs James on 0208 560 3297 or by email at amcgovern1.313@lgflmail.org.
