Shooting Star CHASE celebrated a wonderful evening of summer sophistication with celebrities and supporters at the end of June, with a special fundraiser at Syon Park.

The event bought together high profile supporters of Shooting Star CHASE, which cares for over 500 families living in western London, Surrey and West Sussex, for a glorious evening of cocktails and entertainment at the beautiful and prestigious Great Conservatory in Syon Park, the use of which was kindly granted by one of the charity’s Vice Presidents, The Duke of Northumberland.

Celebrity supporters of the children’s hospice service in attendance included patrons comedian Bobby Davro, PR guru Max Clifford and actress Samantha Bond, who enjoyed the warm summer evening mingling with guests in the gardens. Guests could purchase a specially created Shooting Star Chaser cocktail, with a chance to win a private capsule ride on the London Eye, and delicious canapés were provided by Cottage Rhubarb.

Bobby Davro and Tony HadleySinger Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet (pictured left with Bobby Davro), one of charity’s Vice Presidents, also attended and commented: “I really enjoy supporting Shooting Star CHASE and am privileged to be a Vice President. This evening is a great opportunity to bring many supporters together and remind ourselves why we support such a worthy cause.”

Karen Sugarman, Director of Specialist Fundraising for Shooting Star CHASE said: “This event not only provides a wonderful opportunity for Shooting Star CHASE to thank our high profile supporters and patrons, we also raise vital funds to help support local families with a child or teenager with a life-limiting condition. This event allows us to celebrate partnerships, fundraise for our charity and enjoy a special evening together with friends.”

A raffle and exclusive auction was held later in the evening, selling unique prizes to the highest bidders which raised over £10,500, followed by spectacular entertainment courtesy of Bobby Davro and friend Kenny Lynch, one of Britain’s best loved entertainers, with Tony Hadley joining them on stage for some very special performances.

All proceeds from the event will go towards helping local children and teenagers who are not expected to reach their 19th birthday, and Shooting Star CHASE would like to sincerely thank all their sponsors for their generous support.
