Syon Lodge is up for sale for £6,950,000 which would make it one of the most expensive properties sold in the capital outside the West End.

The Grade II* listed period house was built by Robert Adam in 1770. It was previously the home of Crowthers, Britain's oldest dealer in architectural antiques. They were based at the house for over 65 years. Recently it was converted from offices into a family home packed with modern technology.

The house comprises 9 bedrooms, 8 receptions and 5 bathrooms with a garden and terrace area. The total plot size is just over an acre.

Prior to being the home of Crowthers it is believed to have been a school and some scholars say that the poet Shelley attended there early on in his education. It was also the home of local writer George Manville Fenn in the early part of the twentieth century.
