Cyclist Seriously Injured Near A40 in Ealing

A man in his fifties is in hospital after being hit by a car close to the A40 in Ealing on Sunday morning (29 January).

According to reports on social media he was riding a bike on the cycle lane near the junction with Lynwood Road when a car crashed through a barrier and hit him at around 7.40am.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains, but the police say his condition is not life-threatening.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said, "We were called at 7.40am on Sunday (29 January) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist at the junction between the A40 and Lynwood Road, Ealing.

“We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a person at the scene before taking them to hospital.”
