Nacho Carbonell achieved a remarkable third-place finish at the Tribourne Festival of Endurance after completing a full-distance Ironman triathlon under tough conditions.

The event, which took place on Saturday 20 July, included a demanding open water swim in choppy seas, followed by a punishing bike and run course, taking Nacho around 14 hours to complete. His performance placed him third overall in his category—a notable achievement in one of the UK’s more physically testing triathlon events.

He took on the challenge to raise funds for St Ann’s Foundation, a charity close to his heart. He surpassed his fundraising target of £1,000, significantly contributing to the foundation’s work.

To prepare he spent two hours a day, six-days-a-week running, swimming, cycling, strength, or doing stretching exercises. His training plan, intensified monthly as the event approached, sometimes doubling or tripling training hours.

Following his success in Eastbourne, Nacho has announced he will continue his fundraising efforts by competing again in October at the ICAN Gandia-Valencia triathlon in Spain.

Donations in support of Nacho’s campaign for St Ann’s Foundation can still be made via his JustGiving page.
