Six fire engines and around forty firefighters were called to tackle a fire at a house on Willow Road in Ealing this Monday afternoon (15 May).

The first of nine calls about the incident was received at 1:50pm and crews from Heston, Park Royal, Richmond, Acton, Hammersmith and Southall fire stations attended the scene north of Gunnersbury Park.

Half of the first floor and roof of the semi-detached two storey house converted into flats was damaged by the fire.

It took until 4:29pm to get the fire fully under control with an extendable platform being used to reach the roof.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
