Greenford Severed Hand Murder - More Arrests

Police seeking to reassure public and appealing for help

Six more men have been arrested in connection with the death of a woman who was left mutilated in Greenford.

Geeta Aulakh, 28, was found with a severed hand and serious head injuries in Braund Avenue, at 7pm on Monday. She died later in Charing Cross hospital.

Police believe Ms Aulakh was attacked on Monday evening, shortly after leaving work, at Sunrise Radio.

She was found a short distance from the front door of her childminder who looked after her boys, aged eight and nine.

Ms Aulakh's husband Harpreet, from whom she was separated, and five other people were bailed on Wednesday.

Police say the latest arrests were made earlier at an address in Ealing. All six men remain in police custody.

There have been concerns expressed locally following the incident and police are trying to reassure the public.

Acting Borough Commander Ian Jenkins said today:

"We currently have no evidence to suggest that this was a random attack and we believe it to be an isolated incident. Thankfully this is a rare occurrence on Ealing Borough and I would like to reassure the community that Ealing Police is fully supporting the Homicide and Serious Crime Command in their investigation.

"We will be working closely with our partners over the coming days and will conduct reassurance patrols in the Greenford area and across the borough.

"If any members of the public have specific concerns I would encourage them to talk to their Safer Neighbourhoods Teams.

"If anyone has information regarding the inquiry I would ask them to contact the Incident Room on 020 8247 7821 or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
