Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera Signs Up for Ealing Book Festival


Latest in series of authors to announce appearance at event

The latest author to sign up to appear at the Ealing Book Festival is Phil Manzanera.

The Roxy Music guitarist will be in conversation with Stuart Prebble discussing his new book ‘Revolución to Roxy’ which shares his eventful life story, from his musical roots as a child in pre-revolution Cuba, Hawaii, Venezuela and Columbia, to his Roxy Music audition and subsequent years touring with the band during the art/glam rock boom. He will also talk about his years as a leading music producer and his experiences with artists from David Gilmour to Bob Dylan.

He joins fellow rock legend Bill Wyman on the line up of writers due to appear and is among the latest round of events taking place at the festival to be announced including talks by Marina Cantacuzino on her book Forgiveness: An Exploration, senior editor at Hachette books Anne Marie Ryan and Communications Director for Penguin Amelia Fairney demystify the publishing process and local artist Narvir Singh who will lead a poetry workshop focusing on identity and personal heritage.

There is also a session titled ‘To be and not to be’ featuring Ealing poets James Pendle, Owen Gallagher and Lisa Kelly who will explore issues around access, wellbeing and exclusion and a local authors’ event will showcase some of the best writing talent that Ealing has to offer. Featuring 20 local authors and poets it will be compered by the Capital Xtra DJ and literature champion Jojo Silva.

The latest additions complete the programme of events to be held between 11 - 14 April at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery in Ealing. Tickets can be purchased on the Pitzhanger Manor web site.

While some events are sold out there are tickets still available across the Festival and we are thrilled to be able to add such an exciting mix of new events to the existing programme”.
