It may not officially be panto season but circumstances have meant that The Questors annual pantomime is being performed this month.

It had to be cancelled during the Christmas period due to Covid.

Whipping it Up is coming to the end of its run in the Studio Theatre where it will be following by The Questors Student Group's production of Moira Buffini's Loveplay.

A very timely piece, given recent news reports is Whipping It Up by Steve Thompson which is due to be performed in the Studio from 5-12 March in the Studio. This farce set in a Government Whips’ office is a mixture of comedy, satire and thriller, with a plot that goes through “more twists and double-bluffs than a poker game between conmen”.

There will be a post-show Q&A session on Thursday 10 March featuring the playwright.

The traditional pantomime Snow White will now be staged from 11-27 March in the Judi Dench Playhouse. It will be over two years since the venue has been able to stage a pantomime.

When Snow White’s angelic beauty is deemed the fairest in the land, her menacing stepmother, the Evil Queen, is overcome with jealousy. On escaping death's clutches, Snow White is offered shelter in the woods by some friendly faces. But will the machinations of her Evil Stepmother stop there? Oh no, they won’t…

Tickets are now on sale for a limited run of just eight performances of Loveplay the contemporary play set in one location, but spanning 2,000 years - from Roman times to the present day. Seductions and sexual encounters take us through ten scenes where people come together, sometimes willingly, sometimes not, in the ongoing search for romantic love and physical pleasure. It will be performed by The Questors Student Group, marking 75 years since the course was first founded.

Written by Olivier award-winning playwright and screenwriter Moira Buffini (Silence, The Dig), it was first performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company at The Pit Theatre, 2001. The Questors Theatre bring you a revival of this play, performed by a company of young actors, set against a design that aims to transport you from Renaissance times to modern day online dating.

The play last two hours and tickets are £12 or £10 for members or concessions.
