Ibsen's A Doll's House Reimagined at The Questors

An adaptation of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House by British-Indian playwright Tanika Gupta is being staged in the Studio from 24 February to 4 March.

This reimaging of Ibsen’s classic play is set in Calcutta during British colonialist rule in 1879 . Niru, a young Bengali woman, is married to English bureaucrat Tom. To him, she is a prize possession, a doting wife whose purpose is to serve. But when she takes agency of her own, how will he respond?

It was originally staged at The Lyric in 2018. This production is directed by Meneka Das.

Questors Youth Theatre will be performing The Light Burns Blue in the Judi Dench Playhouse from 25 February to 4 March.

It’s 1917 and WW1 is raging, but when seventeen-year-old Elsie Wright borrows her father's camera, little does she know the public frenzy that will ensue when the community around her believe she has captured concrete proof that fairies exist.

Catapulted to the heights of fame when their photos are published around the world, Elsie and her cousin Frances now find themselves on the radar of Winifred Douglas a young newspaper reporter tasked by her editor to expose the cousins as frauds.

Inspired by the true story of the Cottingley Fairies, The Light Burns Blue, is by award-winning playwright Silva Semerciyan.

On Monday 27 Feburary, Questanory 2 is being performed in the Studio. Following their first evening of short fiction and live music, Graham Brough, Nigel Lawrence and Simon Roberts are back.

This time around they’ll be turning the pages together with a line-up of new wordsmiths, all with their own original tales to tell. The short stories, will be accompanied by music specially composed for the event. Tickets can be purchased at the door for £5.

On Sunday 5 March, The Number One Guy otherwise known as Sean Kelly, will be performing number one hits from UK chart history in The Studio at 2.30pm. You shout out a year and he will play you a chart-topper from that year. As well as the songs, you'll hear the stories behind them, chart trivia, memories, and even the odd joke.

Murder on the Nile, based on the classic thriller from the Queen of Crime, is being staged from 18 March to 25 March in the Judi Dench Playhouse
