Ealing Property Sales - January 2013
Strong start to the year for prices in W5
The Ealing property market started the year with a bang particularly in W5 during the month of January according to figures released by the Land Registry.
There were 42 properties sold in the W5 post code area at an average price of £589,833 one of the highest monthly averages on record. Five properties sold for over a million during the month - a home in Hillcroft Crescent changed hands for £1,475,000.
There were just 23 properties sold in the W13 post code area at an average of £430,413. The most expensive was on Ravensbourne Gardens costing its new owners £840,000.
According to the Land Registry, London property prices continue to lead the rest of the country rising by 7.1% in January compared with the same month in 2012. The average price of a home in the capital is now £373,207. For England and Wales as a whole over the same period average prices rose by just 1.0% to reach £162,441.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during November 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales increased by 1 per cent to 61,091 compared with 60,369 in November 2011. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in November 2012 increased by 19 per cent to 657 from 554 in November 2011.
