Ealing Property Sales - April 2014
Month sees prices continue to trade at high levels
Ealing property prices appear to have maintained the high levels seen so far this year during April.
There were 60 transactions during the month in the W5 post code area at an average price of £585,115. This is around the record levels seen in the area during the first quarter of 2014.
Five properties were sold for over a million pounds during the month, the most expensive of which was a home on Mount Park Crescent changing hands for £1,650,000.
In West Ealing (W13) there were 38 sales during the month at an average price of £565,466. Just of one of these cost over a million, a house in Amherst Avenue that went for £1,695,000.
Over the last twelve months London as a whole has seen a rise in average values of 17% making it the strongest performing area in the country. The average house in the capital cost £435,034 during the month of April.
For England and Wales as a whole, Land Registry figures show that the average prices is up by 6.7% over the last year to £172,069 although they are down compared with February.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during February 2014 the number of completed house sales in England & Wales increased by 38 per cent to 62,368 compared with 45,236 in February 2013.
The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in February 2014 increased by 65 per cent to 836 from 507 in February 2013.
The latest reported sales are given in the table below. The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database.
