Corinna: Thanks for that message...and well done for coping with tomorrow night's papers. We were just a small group but very convivial...real ale..pints of Hampshire Rose...and another one called Something? Treacle. And Neil loves his pork scratchings..and I don't think Neil had met any of us before...but he has become a friend already. He spoke of his time as Archives Librarian at the Hounslow Reference Library, about his historic Brentford Pubs article in the local History Magazine, his Librarian job in Sydney, the Brentford Canal developements, and his first love ....Brentford Football Club. I hadn't realised that Neil when to Chiswick Community School...so he is a Meadonian also.Nigel reported that he had been to the recent Civic Centre Police Meeting and had played with the ...did he say guns...and he too seemed to be impressed with the new Commander. We had in attendance a gentleman who is standing at the forthcoming General Election for IB & Chiswick.....no it wasn't Mr Keen or Mr Andrews...and we heard the low down from him about the local scene and his endeavours. We detected a spy at an adjoining table..from the local Labour Party...but he later join in..and was very pleasant. Hopefully his tape recorder mal-functioned!Tomorrow night is the Ealing/ Acton first meet up..and all are welcome. Please notify Gerry on Ealing site if you plan to go along.
