Town centre manager? What about environment manager, or environmental anything?  Does anyone know what has happened to our bees? ... And this has nothing to do with football . . . .

HiYou can try as much as possible, but the problem isnt what the council can do, but the people of Brentford. There are a few people in Brentford who actually give it a bad name, like wannable Gangsters. While these type of people live in the area, You can try as much as possilbe but it wont help. Look at ealing and richmond. So close but the completely different atmosphere.

https://www.facebook.com/1000bins?ref=hlHere is something I would like to share.  Took me some time to find it (with the help of those who set it up).  I don't do facebook (and had to ask someone else to post the picture I took).It gives an idea of what is happening elsewhere.Bins do need to have lids - and I really think of litter as being something that is sort of accidental and incidental ie not household or business waste!

Why not contact this new lady and ask if her job encompasses the Town Centre Environment -  ensuring it's a litter free place - free of pollution (as far as is possible in a town) - well kept green open spaces with some trees, a few benches and free from light pollution.

Better ask this on the Town Centre Manager thread, Philippa.I would wonder what her job description was and whether she is expected to provide her own magic wand as there are none available in the Borough.  Also talking in sound bites is soooo annoying - and often meaningless.  Plain speaking with 'no' when something cannot be done would be very refreshing.
