Ifti....percentages and numbers

It turns out that old Ifti is a bit of a mathematician... great at quoting numbers when it comes to berating our schools etc. Well I got some numbers for you matey!Currently the prison population is around 27% muslim.  Muslims currently make up just under 5% of the population.... Plus you must factor in the logical point that if you believe in a religion so completely you are deceiving yourself about life generally (all religions being twaddle).I can't blame them, in their less civilised cultures, because in my culture people still hang on to the religion myth.Sad, but totally understandable

You raise a valid point - looking at all the "Muslims" who have been grooming young girls AND have been imprisoned for it,Very disproportionate to the populus as a whole

And I'm simply stating that according to shiftyall things muslim are far greater and better than English....  or do these perpetrators forget they are muslim just before they commit a crime ?

With respect I'm not saying that at all Andy.  I'm just stating the simple fact that a disproportionate number of people in prison are working class, and that if a disproportionate number of Muslims are also working class then that may explain the percentage you have quoted.  Nothing at all to do with justifying crime.

I disagree.... that's like saying you have no choice because you are poor.In any case.... committing a crime because you are poor is no excuse... We all have a choice !

I think one would need to factor in the class origin of most UK Muslims by comparison with that of other religions before drawing any rash conclusions.  The prison population is overwhelmingly working class for obvious reasons and that is probably a more significant factor here than the religious background of those on Her Maj's guestlist.
