Catalytic converter thieves are back
Sometime on Wednesday night the 'cat' was stolen from our car on Ealing Road, it's an MPV so quite high off the ground - they won't even have had to jack it up I expect, and they appear to have used a pipe cutter so it was probably just a few minutes work. There's CCTV around but it's distant, and since we don't know exactly when it went it would be a lot of footage to scan. I was told at the garage that there's been several similar thefts around Brentford over the last three weeks. The thieves sell the cats for about £50 each for the platinum content. Yet when I reported it to the police, they seemed unaware of this possible crime-wave. So if you have suffered a cat theft, PLEASE report it to the police. If there's a gang hitting Brentford, they need to know so they can try to catch them. And if you haven't lost your cat yet, then if you have a vehicle with high ground clearance - MPV, 4x4, van, etc - be careful where you leave it overnight.
