More traffic chaos coming our way

I wonder if we as local residents are to get compensation for the last 4 years of severe traffic bus and train delays.This summer has been awful in both Brentford Kew, Actonand South Ealing.Bus diversions that have added up to 40 mins on journeys and journeys from town taking up to two hours?My boss travels into Blackfriars from Amersham and gets to work and home again in just over half the time it takes to do the same journey to Brentford, South Ealing or Kew Bridge, a fraction of the distance.After removing the London charges His travel costs are just 14%  higher than mine. To top it off he lives outside the London Boroughs and makes no council tax contribution to TfL or the GLA. His council tax in leafy bucks is considerably less them mine for his 5 bed house, 3 acres of garden and treble garage.It seems all the improvements are to the East of London and really Crossrail is going to benefit those who live outside the GLA area. Already projections are showing that the trains will be at capacity before reaching Southall.A major improvement would be for LBH to lobby the reinstatement of the semi fast train service from Brentford to Waterloo. It was just 16mins and by far the  fastest way into and out of London from here and requires no costly infrastructure changes.Then at least we will not feel quite so hemmed in by constant road disruption.

Nor does it explain what happens to the off-road cycleway along the North Circular that gets a fair bit of commuter use as the way north from Kew Bridge.I did get a surprise the first time I came round the Chiswick roundabout to see the sign "Cycle path closed - find alternative route". With no prior warning, my alternative route was to ride northwards on the main carriageway which wasn't particularly pleasant and was mildly disruptive to the traffic flow for the short distance I had to cover before the cycle path opened again.If I had been traveling south on the contra-flow cycle path I do not know what alternative route was available.Since then, the "cycle path closed" signs have been removed,so cyclists can currently use the off-road path - but there are short  sections shared with pedestrians where there are "cyclists dismount" signs.We will no doubt have more surprises as the work develops....

The article is so poorly composed that it isn't at all clear, with incomplete sentences such as "during the day four lanes of traffic" meaning that any reader isn't clear as to the details - come on editors/moderators, if you're going to publish a story at least make it fit for publication first...Yes the impact could be severe, but equally if there's only going to be one or two complete closures over a period of over 24 months, and for the vast majority of the time there will be 4 lanes still in operation in both directions, the impacts might not be that horrendous - or maybe that's just wishful thinking ?!.
