J M Barrie (a Scot) bequeathed the copyright of Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital in April 1929. The proceeds of Barrie’s legacy along with the charitable donations of others have helped thousands of children throughout the years. I’m sure that we all hope that Great Ormond Street Hospital will continue to care for children in the same way for many years to come. A significant supporter of Great Ormond Street Hospital has been none other than Mohamed Al Fayed. See http://www.alfayed.com/details.asp?aid=89 Aside from being a son of Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi Fayed was the Executive Producer of Chariots of Fire, The Scarlet Letter and Hook. Hook released in 1991, was based on the writings of J M Barrie. We should all be grateful for the excellent work of everyone involved with Great Ormond Street Hospital, past, present and future, be they patients, their families, staff or supporters.
